About Classic Carpet Warehouse
Classic Carpet Warehouse
It’s been over forty years since Sarkis Ohanessian opened the doors to Classic Carpet on May 15, 1974.
The store was then located on Route 4 in Paramus. Sarkis had been thriving on the success he had as an installer from 1969-1974. Sarkis opened a 23,000 sq. ft. warehouse showroom in Midland Park in addition to the Paramus store, but he could not give his patrons the personal attention that was his main goal, so he concentrated his efforts on the larger Midland Park store.
For the next 18 years, Classic Carpet gained the respect and trust of Northern Bergen County with the help of his wife, Mary. The business continued to grow and mature through, mostly, satisfied customer recommendations. The key to this success was the fact that Classic Carpet had become the only carpeting and flooring store in Bergen County whose owner was an installation technician. This advantage ensures the job is done right, from sale to installation.
Classic Carpet moved once again to 8 Franklin Turnpike in Waldwick. The current location boasts a separate showroom and warehouse, where most work is done on the premises.
