Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I tell what carpet is better from another?

There are a few ways to tell if one carpet is better.

1. The twist of the yarn. The more the twist and the tighter the twist the better the carpet.

2. The density (how close one fiber is next to the other)

3. Ounce weight there is in carpet. Be careful, some places will tell you the total weight (including the backing.) instead of the face weight (not including the backing). You need the face weight only.

4. Pile height. This is not as important as the above be cause some times you have pile height but not the twist or density which makes one carpet better than another.
